Two Faced

Some portions of me shine like golden yellow sunbeams through a dusty room.
Luminous, lovely light rays that are filled with hope
Enveloping me in laughter that chases the blue away
My smile can never fade because I am glowing
In waltzes of warmth, my rays softly sing.
My dreams feel like they are right outside my window
I peek through the curtains to see just how vibrant my life could be
Yet beneath my glow, there are fragments of faded blue
I feel the weight of my clouds feeling heavy before the storm
Frustration swirls where joy once lived
Puddles of sadness are isolated in those shallow spaces
In silence, the drapes of my dreams are shut
Shadows stain the sunbeams' rays
There is no hope of brighter days
Though I shine on the surface, deep beneath
A sorrowful echo fills my heart’s wreath.
