My Meaningful Rocks

I am a geode. I don’t look pretty on the outside, but I sparkle like stars on the inside.

I am graphite. I am always under pressure, so much that I cannot measure. After epochs I am reformed, reborn as a diamond, rare and aglow and now I put on a show.

I am spinel. I have my shiny, unique ways. Unfortunately, all of my world mistakes me for ruby, like I’ve never had my own ways, and it seems like ruby gets all my praise.

I am a fossil, old and gray. When people overlook me, I am filled with dismay, but I am filled with wisdom and knowledge that is definitely not from today.

I am lapis lazuli. People always say I never stop feeling blue, but all my feelings just don’t depend on my hue.

I am carnelian. I always look so mad, but on the contrary if you look close at me, I’m not that bad.

I am Iceland spar. I refract light two ways, I fear no one will stop using me as a tool for the rest of my days.

I am obsidian. I have many sharp edges and a sleeky look, so when someone sees me, they flee because they think I am a crook.

I am amber. I was jealous of all of my kind that had bugs inside, until my father told me that I had a heart of gold inside.

We are all rocks trying to find our way, sometimes like you our emotions go astray. But even when we feel like this, it will be okay.
