Going forward

you were the one I wanted most to stay
time goes by, unfair and cruel to this day
like waves on a shore
wilted flowers by the door
it leaves its mark, wrinkles and white hair in all
your laughter and joy, taken by time's cruel clutches,
a smile so far, yet yesterday it stood tall
rebirth and glory blossom on the graves of grief and torment
shame and trouble left behind.
a friend? no.
Time a never ending cycle,
so much to learn, yet, history always repeats itself

so much to learn, yet history always repeats itself
Time a never ending cycle
a friend? no.
shame and trouble left behind
rebirth and glory blossom on the graves of grief and torment
a smile so far, yet yesterday it stood tall
your laughter and joy, taken by time's cruel clutches
wilted flowers by the door
like waves on a shore
time goes by, unfair and cruel to this day
you were the one I wanted most to stay
