Boy wishing himself away

This is my cage,
one would say with beauty
and grace, I sit peacefully
In this chaos day to day.

Some pray for this cage
while others stray from
the ideals of a cage altogether.

Someday I wish to change my
form, fly away into the sweet
embrace of the summer sun.

I could only wish, that one
day, soon I will change the
cage. Take a new form
and kiss all my pain away.

Until then I must endure
the hate and contain my rage
while simply relying on luck
and the comfort of others to keep my at bay.

I simply need to wait one more decade…
