The Heroes of Altomare

Altomare, the city of water;
Its guardians, though without a father,
Never give in, and with each precious hour,
The fate of the city relies on their power.

Our story begins with a 10-year-old boy.
With his faithful partner, will he foil the ploy
Of two thieves who seek the city’s great gem?
Can the guardians put their trust in him?

Latios and Latias guard the city,
Brother and sister, they help many
People every day, although,
Those they help may never know.

Altomare, the city of water;
Its guardians, though without a father,
Never give in, and with each precious hour,
The fate of the city relies on their power.

One fateful day the boy, named Ash,
Though many may consider him a bit rash,
With his faithful partner named Pikachu,
Saved Latias from the nefarious two.

Latias, on what seemed like a whim,
Decided to put her trust in him.
She then brought him to her brother,
They played and had fun with each other.

Altomare, the city of water;
Its guardians, though without a father,
Never give in, and with each precious hour,
The fate of the city relies on their power.

That night was when disaster struck,
The thieves into the garden snuck.
They stole the Soul Dew, the precious gem,
They attacked Latios and captured him.

Latias knew what to do,
She looked for Ash and Pikachu.
She took them to the DMA,
Ash knew those thieves would have to pay.

Altomare, the city of water;
Its guardians, though without a father,
Never give in, and with each precious hour,
The fate of the city relies on their power.

The DMA was built to defend,
To be used only as a means to an end,
If Altomare were ever in danger or need,
It wasn’t for thieves or their constant greed.

Latios and the Soul Dew were needed,
Before the thieves could have succeeded.
Since they had both, Latias and Ash,
Knew they had to act in a flash.

Altomare, the city of water;
Its guardians, though without a father,
Never give in, and with each precious hour,
The fate of the city relies on their power.

Rushing to get there, racing time,
They were able to stop the awful crime,
But, just as all seemed well again,
A terrible thing happened to them.

The Soul Dew, strained by the night’s events
Without the water that it represents,
On contact, shattered, it no one could save,
Then, out in the ocean, rose a giant wave.

Altomare, the city of water;
Its guardians, though without a father,
Never give in, and with each precious hour,
The fate of the city relies on their power.

Latios and Latias had a duty to do,
With one final look at their friends, they flew,
Out to meet that unstoppable wave,
They had to be strong, they had to be brave,

With a splash and a crash, they met it head on,
With all of their power, it didn’t take long,
Before the wave splashed harmlessly onto the shore,
But one of the guardians was no more,

Altomare, the city of water;
Its guardians, though without a father,
Never give in, and with each precious hour,
The fate of the city relies on their power.

Latios, exhausted, with his energy drained,
In his last moments, to his sister explained,
That he had to go, he had to move on,
That she had to have courage, that she had to be strong,

That very night a new Soul Dew was born,
Latios, the guardian, those who knew him would morn.
But he had to do it, he had to replace,
His father and forever Altomare grace.

Altomare, the city of water;
Its guardians, though without a father,
Never gave in, and with each precious hour,
The fate of the city relied on their power.
