Dust to Dust

What if the leaves fell in spring
What if the birds didn’t sing

What if the morning the sun didn’t show
What if only the cold wind would blow

What if there were no hills of green
What if dust and dirt is all that could be seen

What if the sky was never blue
What if darkness was all you knew

What if the flowers wouldn’t bloom
What if butterflies stayed in their cocoon

What if the bees didn’t buzz
What if what was once, never was

So count your blessings where they lie
For everything has a time to die
