Flower of Life

When she was a child
She was bright and mellow
Her aura gleaming
She was blooming in life
Enjoying every moment
Living it to the fullest

As soon as the reality hit her
She felt the captivity
Surrounded by the darkness

She tried to escape
Putting up a fake smile
Mending broken relationships

Showing the world she was doing just fine
On the inside, she knew
She was on the brink of crying

Being torn apart every second of her life
Pain so unbearable
Screaming inside

Once a blossomed flower
Now a withering rose
Life really can
Exhaust the happiness out of a soul
