Literary Pains

Writing is meaningless.
Using mountains of
paper to question the
significance of blue
dresses and walls
in a widow’s home.

Writing is meaningless.
Wasting time to scribble
and memorize traits
of ten characters so
proud in their ways.

Writing is meaningless.
Creating false
hope for success. Yet

righting is meaning
less when it
silences thoughts
from inner
most souls too
subtle for the naked
I to see. Righting

is meaning less
when it does not
cause people to
ponder. To create.
To recognize
themselves in life.

Writing is exhausting.
