In the dark I find my solace
I let go of all that’s real
I slip deep into myself
To become more than I feel

It is here where no one hurts me
But for the characters I weave
Though they’ll be gone come the morning
I beg them not to leave

I can live another life
Have no regrets for what’s been lost
I can be somebody else
And there has never been a cost

Sometimes I think I’ll stay
Then real life hits me fast
I’ll let it pass me by
For one more chance to have it last
