The Other Side

The water of the sea was strangely warm

Or was it only her blood leaving her

Her heart damaged more than her deceased form

A Ferryman stopped her from proceeding

Coins were necessary at the front gate

She had nothing of value she said aloud

Only retribution a voice answered

Persephone held out her hand with grace

Be my soldier, a siren of the seas

Reclaim yourself and be strong in the storm

I am always with you, and call upon me

The discomfort in standing made her wince

The goddess smile wavered at her pain

Her body was enveloped with flowers

Her form now shaped into a strong shark fin

She was now blessed with a renewed purpose

She dived back under the waves with a shriek

His screams muddled into the dark water
