My Only Friends Are Pirates

There's gold in the trunk
Twas lost when it sunk
By the sea
They collected me

Some I didn't know from Adam
But I prayed for them
As their lives did end
It's good to know my only friends are pirates

She sang to me as I read her poetry
We see the white bird and feel the sorrow
The things that we hang onto
Your stuff from tomorrow

Though her face is just a memory
I hope she's a poem to thee
I don't know what to do
But I know this is true
My only friends are pirates
