The Unknown

Have you ever walked through the unknown,
The place foreign and alone,
Have you ever walked through the unknown,
Not sure where the path would go.

Have you ever walked through the unknown,
When you thought life was slipping away,
Have you ever walked through the unknown,
where people and things weren't safe.

I have been in this place,
As a child I found the unknown,
In places where doors were closed.

I found the unknown when friends
lead me astray.
I found the unknown,
In dark and empty places.

I found the unknown,
In shallow waters,
In abandon alleys,
In corners of my brain.

I found the unknown,
When I tried to escape,
I found the unknown,
Down halls,
In broken walls.

The unknown doesn't care
What or who you are,
It attacks without warning,
Capsizing your soul into the unknown.
