Never the Same

As I’ve learned at a very young age
When my innocence was finally taken away
One call received at the bedroom doorway
They will all go away

She fell on my floor screaming
I stood there with nothing to say
Hadn’t realized what happened then that,
They will all go away

Please don’t do anything stupid
Were the last words I would ever say
To the oldest brother of four
They will all go away

House filled with tears
All their screaming ringing in my ears
The very thing I learned that day was,
They will all go away

They all told me I was strong
That I was very brave
After watching my family realize,
They will all go away

Lost my first love,
Only months after this day
This helped me grasp the fact that,
They will all go away

Now back to today
Once I thought I’ve recovered
But those memories will never fade
They will all go away

That was when I had once believed
But now I’m losing my sanity
No one was ever the same after we knew,
They will all go away

They continue to call me brave
After all the pain I’ve obtained
Only because I’ve accepted the fact that,
They will all go away

I cry, I scream, I pray
All the times I couldn’t be brave
And I knew in the end, they never stay
They will all go away
