Ignorance

I beg for the blossoming of my heart
The aging of my wisdom
A thousand kisses I’ll never feel
Forgotten words rest in my head
A mute voice reads them
I can’t remember what the sun said
I just know it was important
Rest upon the grass and remember nothing
There’s bliss in knowing nothing
If I knew it all, it would hurt me
Have someone do the knowing for me
Angels lay beside me but don’t weep
Stars may shoot but never fall
This world may never involve me
That’s okay, I’ve known that all along
Forgotten words rest in my head
A mute voice reads them
I know that tomorrow will come
And someday, I will grow
