Beneath the Mask

A red string is strewn
From school to my room,
A road filled with doubt
Is covered with clout.

A life full of redemption
For a bit of attention,
It is harder than it looks
Trust me, I’ve read all the books.

I learn from all of those around me
Although they may be a bit off-key,
After all there is no “I” in “Team”
For there’s more to things than there may seem.

Treat others the way you want to be treated,
It’s the golden rule that everyone needed
In order to achieve world peace and justice
Yet, it’s probably all just on the surface.
