Madeline and Me

I don't know the answers today
Try me again tomorrow
If the wind changes to the west
Maybe I'll see more reasons
Maybe it will be more clear
That even a fool would see

If the air is still in the morning
ask away.

I used to try so hard-it never really showed
I knew deep within my heart the depths that held my soul

If the night is bright with the moon
I could do anything

Here I am at sea
My friend is with me
She's afraid of the swells
But Madeline knows why
And sniffs a sniff to the sky
Waiting for the sails to fly

She's waiting for the sails to fly

And here in the swells
My friend knows me well
It will just be
Madeline and me
