Gone

Utterly and completely heartbroken
Love lost in an instance—in a heart beat
Life is too complicated.
Impossible to surrender
Impossible to survive
Always trying to focus on what is important
But simple actions are never enough
The act of being miserable behind a playful smile
Always lies to hide the imminent meltdown
Lying that your fine—when it’s far from the truth
Fake words to hide the fact that your drowning
Because the lack of his presence—of his warmth
Has NEVER been more prominent
Trying to keep it together but failing
The act of surviving, a complete ruse
Breathing has become impossible—a chore
Taking my last breaths and no one notices
Until I inevitably gulp the last one
And suffocate—and am gone.
